Support the Promise
of the School of Law

We can build greatness at the Law School by building programs that lead the nation, while at the same time serving South Carolina by focusing our strengths in fields where expertise is vital to our State.  -- Rob Wilcox, Dean

Our funding priorities include new programs that will keep graduates competitive in a global job market and a new building that will support students and faculty with one of the most updated, technologically advanced law campuses in the country. Give today so that tomorrow's law students can thrive, supporting our communities and improving our state.

The University has committed $30 million to the new Law School.  Along with generous alumni and friend support, we are excited to announce that our building fund is two-thirds complete. The innovative campus is designed to meet the needs of legal education in the 21st century and will feature integrated technology superior to most other law schools in the country. Help us achieve our goal of creating a modern facility for the next generation of law students. Learn more about the new law school campus.

  • LAW SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS
We offer dual degree opportunities in 11 fields, including business, social work and environmental law.
  • The School of Law has been recognized for leadership through its Centers on Professionalism and Children's Law.
  • We are the only law school in the country to have students elected two consecutive years as the Law Student Representative to the ABA Board of Governors.

Addressing Critical Needs

The School of Law is developing core strengths in areas of critical need for both South Carolina and the nation. We are currently focused on improving our Children's Law, Small Business Law, and Environmental Law programs. We plan to add 10 new faculty members who are experts in these fields, as well as other general coursework needs, and the faculty is developing coursework to ensure that our students develop skills in these specialties. With the knowledge we are cultivating in these areas, we can address issues that are important to South Carolinians and improve our quality of life.
