Special recognition and membership for donors of all levels of giving

To honor and acknowledge the generosity and support of our donors' gifts, the University provides special recognition through a variety of cumulative, annual, and gift planning societies.

  • "We look at the University of South Carolina School of Law as a great resource, not only for our state but also for our law firm. It has really been a core resource for us in hiring young attorneys, many of whom have been promoted to leadership positions."

-David E. Dukes, '84 Law, whose firm Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, pledged $1 million to the School of Law building campaign.

 

Donors with gifts qualifying them for inclusion into these societies are notified via mail and also receive a car decal as a token of gratitude.

CUMULATIVE SOCIETIES

The Horseshoe Society honors donors who have made cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more. Learn more.

ANNUAL SOCIETIES

There are 5 annual giving societies including the 1801 Society, Palmetto Society, Carolina Benefactors, President’s Society, and Carolina Circle. Learn more.

GIFT PLANNING SOCIETY

The Carolina Guardian Society recognizes and honors deferred gifts such as trusts, bequests, insurance policies, and annuities. Learn more.
