Southeastern Piano Festival Invokes Carolina's Passion For Music

The 10th annual Southeastern Piano Festival brought a record setting crowd, musicians from around the world and a significant donation.

Forty one Horseshoe Society members joined over 1,500 other concert goers in an extraordinary musical event. The festival, hosted at the Koger Center for the Arts, saw 20 students from all around the world compete for an opportunity to perform with the South Carolina Philharmonic.

The enthusiasm amongst the concert attendees was evident as the students filled the night with music. The surprise of the evening was the announcement that an anonymous donor, and long-time supporter of the festival, was going to match all donations made to the Piano Festival dollar for dollar up to $20,000.

In what was a magical night to be remembered for the 20 young performers also was one that helped raise money for future artists who will one day perform at the Koger Center.
