At each of our eight campuses throughout the state, faculty make a difference every day . . . with our students, in our communities and even across our world.  From Union to Beaufort, Lancaster to Aiken, Salkehatchie to Columbia, and Sumter to Upstate, our dedicated teachers and researchers are helping realize the great promise of Carolina.

HALLMARKS
  • In 2010, our faculty was awarded a record $218 million in sponsored programs and awards, an increase of $100 million since 2002.
  • The University’s Technology Incubator has graduated 23 companies, creating 668 jobs at an average salary of nearly $50,000. Carolina is among the nation’s leaders in creating start-up companies based on faculty-developed intellectual property.
  • Carolina's faculty are helping lead the state’s Centers of Economic Excellence (CoEE) Program.  Buoyed by private support, several CoEE endowed chairs have been established at the University and top experts  recruited through the program, including in key focus areas such as tourism and older adult health.
